A charming mid-century Australian pottery piece by Wembley Ware, this ashtray features a finely modelled bull standing beside a long rectangular trough. The bull is finished in a warm tan glaze with soft golden highlights, while the trough displays a pale cream base with subtle lustre effects.
Practical in design with four cigarette rests, it also serves beautifully as a display piece of Australiana. Measuring approx. 17 cm wide, it bears the stamped Wembley Ware, Perth W.A. mark to the base.
Wembley Ware’s novelty and rural-themed ceramics are now highly collectible, with their distinctive glazes and bold forms representing the best of Australian post-war pottery.
