Antiques, collectables and remarkable old things from regional Western Australia
Northam Secondhand is a family-run regional Western Australian business built around old things, good design and the stories objects carry with them. From our large Northam store to Toodyay Antiques at historic Connor's Cottage, we buy, sell and source antiques, collectables, furniture and unusual objects from across Western Australia.
Our Story
The business began with the Book Shed in 2018 and expanded with Northam Secondhand in 2021. What started with books and collectables has grown into a large and constantly changing collection spanning furniture, art, glass, ceramics, cameras, radios, tools, kitchenalia, bottles, toys, records, jewellery, lighting, fossils, minerals and much more.
In 2026 we opened Toodyay Antiques at Connor's Cottage, a c.1870 heritage building in the heart of Toodyay. Together, the two shops offer very different experiences while sharing the same approach: interesting objects, honest presentation and the pleasure of finding something unexpected.
More Than Retail
Our stock and experience also support film and television productions, exhibitions, displays and creative projects. Northam Secondhand has supplied props and furnishings to screen productions including Runt, The Twelve – Season 2 and Eden.
Our creative services include period-object sourcing, prop and furniture hire, set dressing, exhibition and display work, interpretation, styling and project sourcing.
Our Team
Paul brings a background in museum planning and exhibition design, including work in exhibition design, graphics, lighting, wayfinding, procurement and installation. That experience continues to inform the way we approach objects, displays and creative projects.
Caroline brings a strong visual-merchandising eye to the shops, while Jack is part of the family business and its day-to-day development.
Aria is the floral artist behind York-based Thistle & Bloom, creating bespoke floral work for weddings, celebrations, events, spaces and creative projects.
