A beautifully modelled vintage Goebel porcelain songbird, hand-painted in soft natural shades of olive green, cream, black and warm chestnut brown. The lifelike sculpting and delicate feather detail are characteristic of Goebel's highly regarded bird studies, produced in West Germany during the mid-20th century.
This example carries the blue Goebel W. Germany backstamp and is part of the early CV series, originally inherited from the Cortendorf bird range before Goebel introduced its later 38-series numbering.
A lovely display piece for collectors of Goebel, Hummel or European porcelain birds.
