A beautifully battered survivor of mid-century European packaging, this large cardboard advertising box once held ijsroom wafels (ice cream waffles) made by Rijmenans-Valkaert in Reet, Belgium. Printed in bold cobalt blue and golden ochre with a stylised falcon (“De Valk”) perched on a hilltop, it’s a masterclass in early commercial graphics.
Dating from the 1950s–60s, this piece has all the character you'd want — tears, stains, and surface wear consistent with decades of storage — and is still structurally sound for display. A rare slice of Belgian design for collectors of vintage packaging or lovers of waffle-themed décor.
