A striking 19th-century Staffordshire flatback spill vase featuring a Highland hunter with flowing locks, feathered bonnet, and loyal hound at his side. Standing an impressive 39.5 cm tall, this sculptural figure was designed to grace the Victorian mantelpiece — both ornamental and functional, with a hollowed-out tree trunk to hold matches or spills.
Hand-painted in earthy tones with a charmingly naïve touch, this piece captures the spirit of mid-19th-century Britain. Minor age-related wear and small firing flaws consistent with its era. No maker's mark, as typical for genuine Staffordshire figures of the period.
A rare tall example, perfect for collectors or decorators seeking a dramatic focal point.
Dimensions: 39.5 cm tall
Condition: Excellent antique condition. Minor kiln flaws and wear consistent with age.
