A charming Victorian cranberry glass jug dating to the late 19th century, featuring a richly coloured bulbous body with an attractive applied hobnail or bead optic pattern.

The elegant ruffled crimped rim is complemented by a finely applied clear ribbed glass handle, hand-worked while hot—a hallmark of quality Victorian glassmaking. Its compact size makes it ideal as a cream jug, small water jug or decorative cabinet piece.

The vibrant cranberry colour is created using gold in the glass batch, giving the piece its distinctive pink-red hue that remains highly sought after by collectors today. Hand-blown examples with applied clear handles continue to be popular with collectors of English Victorian art glass.

Circa: 1880–1900
