🏛 Curatorial Note
Chintz wares flourished in Britain between the wars, reflecting a renewed appetite for warmth, domestic comfort, and decorative abundance following the austerity of World War I.
Small trays such as this were commonly used on dressing tables for jewellery, pins, or hair accessories, and today remain highly collectible for cottage, English country, and vintage interior styling.
