Australia, c. 1910s–1920s
Large early 20th-century Australian tea tin produced by Edwards & Co Pty Ltd, boldly branded Ensign Tea and marketed as “Australia’s Tea-Men.” Lithographed in warm ochre, green and black with decorative borders and period typography, this is a classic piece of Australian grocery and advertising history.
The tin was originally issued for 14 lb net weight tea, reflecting its use in grocers and general stores rather than domestic kitchens. Surfaces show honest wear, oxidation and patina consistent with age, contributing strongly to its display appeal.
A substantial and visually striking piece — ideal for kitchen, café, retail, or industrial-style interiors, or as a cornerstone item in an Australian packaging or advertising collection.
