An exceptional matched pair of original Crown Crystal Glass (Australia) "Melon Rib" carnival glass vases, produced during the late Art Deco period.
Measuring an impressive 30 cm in diameter, these are among the largest and most desirable examples of the famous Melon Rib pattern. Their bold sculptural form and brilliant marigold iridescence produce spectacular flashes of gold, copper, magenta and electric blue, making them outstanding statement pieces in any collection or interior.
Research has confirmed the Melon Rib range was designed and manufactured by Crown Crystal Glass in Australia, with the pattern featured in the company's celebrated 1938 Sydney Show display as its "Mammoth Pieces in New Art Lustres."

Condition
Both vases present beautifully with exceptional colour and strong iridescence.
One vase has a small factory firing/annealing line at the rim from manufacture. This is a production imperfection rather than later damage and does not detract from the display of the piece.
