An early 20th century automatic computing counter scale, manufactured by Barnes Scale Co., Detroit, Michigan, USA, c.1920s. Designed for use in general stores and produce counters, this machine calculated price while weighing goods – an innovative system before electronic registers.
Featuring its original bronze finish, circular glass window showing the internal weight mechanism, curved scale measuring up to 120 lbs, and detachable metal weighing tray. Still with strong industrial presence and untouched patina.
A rare surviving example of early commercial shop equipment – ideal as a feature display for retail, hospitality, kitchen styling, farmhouse décor, industrial-themed interiors or film/set hire.
