Elegant late Victorian cranberry glass vase, hand blown with a tall flared trumpet form and gently undulating rim. The body is decorated with an applied clear glass trailing band, and finished with a scalloped clear glass footed base.
The cranberry colour is rich and even, with visible hand-working throughout and a polished pontil to the base. A classic decorative form from the late Victorian to Edwardian period, equally at home in a period interior or as a bold accent piece.
Likely Bohemian or English in origin, circa 1890–1910.
Condition:
Very good antique condition. Light surface wear and small inclusions consistent with age and manufacture. No chips or cracks noted.
Dimensions
Approx. 20 cm high
Why we love it
Tall, sculptural and unapologetically decorative — this is Victorian glass doing exactly what it was meant to do: catch the light and steal attention.
