England, c. 1880–1900
A striking antique Victorian cranberry glass basket, hand-blown in the late 19th century. The deep cranberry body is complemented by a clear applied glass handle and a dramatic applied prunted footed base, giving the piece strong sculptural presence.
The undulating rim, heavy glass weight, and visible hand-worked details are all consistent with Victorian decorative glassmaking. A classic cabinet piece — decorative rather than utilitarian — and a strong example of the form.
