A magnificent pair of antique hand-forged wrought iron floor candlesticks, dating from the early 19th century and possibly earlier. Standing an impressive 59cm tall, these substantial candlesticks are exceptional examples of traditional blacksmith craftsmanship, retaining their original forged character and rich, untouched patina.
Each candlestick has been individually forged with an octagonal tapered shaft, pronounced hand-forged ball knops and elegant tripod feet. The broad forged candle pans retain their original central candle spikes for securing traditional taper candles.
No two are exactly alike—a hallmark of genuine hand-forged work—and together they make an outstanding decorative statement beside a fireplace, entrance, dining table or country estate interior.
