A handsome Wedgwood blue jasperware sugar bowl, decorated with finely modelled white neoclassical relief scenes of classical figures, trees and pastoral motifs. The bowl is fitted with its original metal (likely copper or bronze) rim, showing a rich, honest patina developed over time.
This is a pleasingly substantial form, with elegant looped side handles and a well-balanced profile. The relief decoration remains crisp and expressive against the deep cobalt blue ground, making it an excellent display piece even without its original lid.
