A fine Wedgwood blue jasperware pepper pot, decorated with crisp white neoclassical relief scenes of classical figures, trees and pastoral motifs. The piece is finished with its original pierced pewter screw-top lid, retaining a deep, honest patina consistent with age.
Elegant in form and beautifully scaled, this pepper pot was intended for the Victorian or Edwardian table but now displays equally well in a cabinet alongside other jasperware or English ceramics. The relief work remains sharp and well defined against the rich cobalt blue ground.
