A substantial and beautifully crafted West Australian jarrah sideboard dating from the early 20th century, showcasing the quality and durability of Federation-era cabinetmaking.
Constructed from solid WA jarrah, the sideboard features a generous full-width top above three central drawers flanked by twin cupboards, offering abundant storage for dining, hallway or living spaces. The rich reddish-brown timber displays the beautiful grain and natural warmth for which jarrah is renowned.
The sideboard is fitted with a complementary period bevelled mirror back featuring carved detailing, twin raised trinket drawers and decorative cresting. While the mirror back is a later period addition to the base, it is entirely sympathetic in style and creates an impressive, well-balanced piece with excellent presence.
A timeless statement piece equally suited to a heritage home, farmhouse or contemporary interior seeking authentic Australian character.
Condition
Very good antique condition with age-related wear consistent with over a century of use. The jarrah base retains its original top and presents beautifully. The period mirror back is a later addition and complements the piece well.
