Original Wedgwood commemorative mug produced in 1972 to mark the 900th anniversary of Lincoln Cathedral (1072–1972). Rendered in Wedgwood’s classic cream-coloured Queen’s Ware, the mug features detailed architectural line illustrations of Lincoln Cathedral, including the East and West Fronts and towers.
Produced at Wedgwood’s historic Etruria works in Barlaston, England, and commissioned by Francis Sinclair Ltd of Doncaster, this piece reflects Wedgwood’s long tradition of commemorative ceramics celebrating major historic and cultural milestones.
