Beautiful late Victorian biscuit barrel featuring rich hand-painted chrysanthemum blooms against a soft ombré ground, with deep cobalt blue rim and delicate gilt foliage work. Presented in its original silverplate frame with swing handle and matching lid, engraved:

“Presented to H. J. Lacey by the staff of The Emerald Bank & Co. for years of faithful service.”

The interior ceramic insert shows multiple age cracks (as photographed) and is unsuitable for food use, however it remains structurally secure within the frame and displays exceptionally well.

A striking example of late 19th-century English decorative ceramics, likely Royal Worcester or similar quality, and perfect for period home styling, dresser display or prop use.
