A Shelley vase produced in England in the early 20th century.
The piece features a deep black ground decorated with a finely hand-painted floral spray, tied with a distinctive blue ribbon. The composition is more detailed than standard production pieces, with delicate foliage and soft tonal variation in the flowers.
The form is low and spreading with a narrow neck and flared rim, sitting comfortably within the transition from late Edwardian design into the early Art Deco period.
The base carries the Shelley England mark.
A decorative and well-balanced example of Shelley’s hand-finished wares.
Condition
Very good vintage condition.
