Produced in the inter-war period, Royal Doulton’s Pied Piper coffee services were never widely made and were far less common than teaware trios. Complete surviving examples — particularly with the original coffee pot and a full run of matching cups — are now increasingly scarce.
This set comprises:
-
One tall Pied Piper coffee pot with lid
-
Six original matching coffee cups
Finished in Doulton’s rich brown ground with green and ochre cloisonné-style panels, this is a highly decorative Art Deco display set, instantly recognisable and seldom encountered intact.
🔸 Condition note:
The pot lid shows a small glaze loss (see images). This is reflected in the price and does not detract from the overall display impact of the set — a common compromise on genuine early Doulton coffee wares.
🔍 Why this set matters
-
Coffee sets are far scarcer than cups or teapots alone
-
Complete groupings are hard to replace once separated
-
Increasingly sought after by collectors and interior stylists alike
Once sold, finding another complete example at this level is unlikely.
