A decorative pair of greyhound figurines produced in the Victorian Revival tradition, inspired by the classic Staffordshire mantel dogs that adorned 19th-century fireplaces and sideboards.
Rather than true bookends, these are sculptural ornaments — modelled in an elegant seated pose and mounted on shaped cobalt-blue bases with gilt banding. The warm fawn shading over an ivory ground gives them a refined, traditional appearance while the clean modelling reflects their mid-20th-century manufacture.
Designed as display pieces, they work beautifully on a mantel, console, or cabinet, bringing a sense of symmetry and period character to an interior.
