Elegant pair of early Victorian Parian porcelain candlesticks, circa 1850, retailed by J. Mortlock & Co., Oxford Street, London. Each finely modelled as a fluted neoclassical column with balustraded capital and ornate egg-and-dart base, in the warm ivory tone typical of early Parian. Impressed “Mortlock’s Oxford St London” to the underside. Old repairs present but stable and sympathetic; they display beautifully and remain impressive statement pieces for a Regency or Victorian mantel.
