A rare and well modelled pair of mid-Victorian Staffordshire pottery figures depicting exotic pigeons perched on naturalistic tree stumps with nests below, circa 1855.
Richly decorated in polychrome enamels with strong modelling and pierced detail, these figures are recorded in Harding & Harding, Victorian Staffordshire Figures (Book 2, figs. 2847 & 2848).
A highly decorative and collectible pair from the classic Staffordshire period.
Condition: very good for age, with minor wear consistent with mid-19th century production.
