A characterful mid-century ceramic terrier figure produced in the Staffordshire potteries during the post-war decorative boom. Modelled in a seated pose with expressive features and textured coat, this piece reflects the popular giftware animals made in Stoke-on-Trent for British homes and export markets through the late 1950s and early 1960s.
Finished in a shaded gloss glaze blending charcoal, olive and cream tones, it has a warm, slightly nostalgic presence typical of the era’s domestic ceramics. Unmarked, as many smaller Staffordshire factories supplied retailers without branded backstamps, but clearly made within that long English pottery tradition.
A decorative and very displayable example of mid-century British ceramics — perfect for collectors of vintage animal figures or for adding a touch of retro character to an interior.
