c.1960s–1970s
A striking mid-century art glass vase featuring a dramatic asymmetric profile and deep layered colour.
The form rises in a tapered silhouette, finishing in a sharp, forward-leaning spout that gives the piece a strong sense of movement. The glass is heavily cased, with a smoky plum interior core encased within clear crystal, accented by subtle blue-green edges visible through the thick walls.
This style of sommerso-style construction — where coloured glass appears suspended within clear casing — is characteristic of European studio glass of the post-war period, produced as sculptural objects rather than purely functional vessels.
Elegant, architectural, and visually powerful, this is a statement piece that reads equally well in modern or mid-century interiors.
