Moser / Mstišov Glassworks, Czechoslovakia (c.1960s–70s)
A superb handmade art glass bowl from the celebrated Rhapsody collection, designed by František Zemek for Moser and produced at the Mstišov glassworks, Czechoslovakia, circa 1960s–1970s.
This sculptural bowl exemplifies Zemek’s mastery of flowing organic form and controlled colour composition. The elongated freeform profile is layered with sweeping bands of cobalt blue, emerald green and warm amber, encased in crystal-clear glass. A polished clear foot elevates the form, allowing light to refract through the coloured layers with remarkable depth and movement.
Produced during the golden period of Czech studio glass, Rhapsody pieces are highly regarded for their balance of modernist design, technical excellence and artistic expression.
