The upper row contains three sepia-toned portraits, with a fourth portrait suspended below and framed by an elegant floral and foliate motif.

Constructed in a gilt metal, possibly pinchbeck, the brooch retains its original pin fastening and displays the intimate personal keepsake style popular during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
