A substantial late Victorian French oak bookcase dating to around 1895, featuring a pair of astragal-glazed doors flanked by turned columns and surmounted by a bold moulded cornice. Crafted from beautifully figured oak with a rich warm patina, this impressive cabinet offers both practical storage and timeless decorative appeal.
The glazed doors open to reveal three spacious shelves, ideal for displaying books, ceramics, glassware or collections. A particularly desirable feature is that the bookcase dismantles into sections, making transport, delivery and installation considerably easier than most cabinets of this size.
The restrained architectural design allows the quality of the oak and craftsmanship to shine, making it equally suited to a period home, library, study or retail setting.
Condition: Very good antique condition with age-related wear consistent with over 130 years of use. Glass intact and presents beautifully.
