Australia, c. 1920s–1930s

Large early 20th-century Australian tea tin produced for Bushells, featuring the iconic “The Tea of Flavor” branding. The front is decorated with a richly coloured lithographed scene of a woman in a pastoral landscape, a classic and highly recognisable image in Australian grocery advertising.

Designed for bulk tea storage in grocers and general stores, this tin is substantially sized and visually striking. The reverse carries period promotional text extolling the careful curing of Bushells tea leaves. Extensive wear, surface rust and paint loss are present, creating a strong, honest patina that enhances its decorative appeal.

A standout piece of Australian commercial design — ideal for display in kitchens, cafés, retail interiors or as part of an Australian advertising or packaging collection.
