A characterful Scottish stoneware cream pot featuring a detailed black transfer print for Wigtownshire Creamery Co., Stranraer.
The front shows a milkmaid carrying pails within a pastoral scene, framed by the bold “Pure Fresh Cream” banner. These advertising pots were used for retail dairy distribution and returned for reuse, making surviving examples increasingly scarce.
This example has strong visual presence, with crisp transfer detail and good contrast against the warm buff glaze. The Scottish origin adds a layer of regional interest beyond the more common English pots.
A solid piece for collectors of dairy advertising, rustic kitchenalia, or early 20th century stoneware.
