Antique Leather Gladstone Doctor's Bag with Provenance – Alexander Troupe, Kukerin WA c1900–1920

A substantial antique leather Gladstone doctor's bag dating from the early 20th century, retaining its original steel frame, locking clasp and leather handle. The front is monogrammed "A.T." in gold, matching the documented original owner.

Included is a handwritten provenance note identifying the bag as belonging to Alexander Troupe, a Scottish immigrant from Deeside on the River Dee, who arrived in Western Australia from Scotland in 1880, established a farm at Kukerin, helped open the local shire hall and later died in Albany.

Whether used as a doctor's bag, travelling case or business case, this is a well-preserved example with genuine Western Australian provenance.
