Beautiful antique carnival glass covered candy dish in luminous green iridescent glass with a classic grapes and leaves pattern.
The dish features a decorative openwork lace-style rim, embossed grapevine motifs around the bowl, and a matching lid with a grape cluster finial. The pedestal base gives the piece an elegant display profile typical of early 20th-century carnival glass tableware.
When light hits the surface the glass produces a vivid rainbow iridescence, a hallmark of carnival glass produced in the United States during the early 1900s.
Pieces like this were popular decorative table pieces used for sweets, nuts, or bonbons.
