Antique Candlestick Telephone with Bakelite Receiver c1905–1925

A genuine early 20th-century candlestick desk telephone, dating to around 1905–1925, retaining its original steel base, upright stem and transmitter with a later brown Bakelite receiver and period braided cloth cord.

Candlestick telephones were among the first desk telephones used before the widespread adoption of rotary dial instruments. Early examples relied on a separate wall or desk-mounted ringer box (subset) and manual telephone exchanges, making them an important milestone in the history of telecommunications.

This example carries the original subscriber identification "ANNETTE 5678" on the front name plate, adding to its period character and display appeal.

The telephone is sold as an untested display or restoration piece.
