Striking early 20th century poison bottle in amethyst glass, the colour developed from manganese reacting to sunlight over time. Classic rectangular section with chamfered corners and applied lip. Embossed “DINNEFORD’S / FLUID MAGNESIA / LONDON” (lightly worn but legible).
Originally a medicinal product, these bottles were deliberately shaped for tactile recognition. The strong purple tone and honest wear give it real shelf presence.
Condition Good antique condition. General surface wear, light scratching and haze consistent with age and burial. No cracks. Minor nibbles around the lip typical of use.
