A fine Royal Doulton flambé rectangular pin dish dating to the inter-war period, finished in a rich oxblood red reduction glaze with dramatic darker pooling. The base bears the Royal Doulton crown mark, “Flambé,” and the handwritten name Noke, referring to Charles Noke—Doulton’s celebrated ceramic chemist and the key figure behind their flambé experiments.

Compact yet visually powerful, this dish exemplifies the technical mastery and surface depth achieved in Doulton’s high-temperature flambé firings. Today it is prized both as a functional trinket dish and as a collectible example of British ceramic innovation.
